Foundation of Maun Village Church

The Maun Village Church was founded by Pastors Jerry and Jana Lackey in 1998 in a small classroom in the Borolong ward. A handful of people met each week in a 100-year-old mission house (London Mission House) belonging to the London Mission Society. The small room, which Pastor Jerry used, was said to have been used by Moffatt during Dr. Livingstone's ministry for work on the translation of the Setswana Bible.

The church has now grown to a vibrant congregation of people representing more than 18 nations. Weekly services are conducted Sunday-mornings in a big yellow and white tent, which seats approximately 1000 people. Mid week service is held Thursday evenings at the church. The church has an active and relevant youth ministry, and Power House Youth each Friday night.

Declaration of Faith
This is my bible.
I am what it says I am.
I have what it says I have.
I can do what it says I can do.
Today, I will be taught the word of God.
I boldly confess: My mind is alert. My heart is receptive.
I will never be the same.
I am about to receive the incorruptible,
Indestructible, ever-living seed of the word of God.
I will never be the same.
Never. Never. Never.
I will never be the same.
In Jesus name. Amen.

Future Plans

The Church plans the construction of a permanent state of the art auditorium in ethnic African architecture, similar to other beautiful Love Botswana facilities. A community youth center is also planned to facilitate the ever increasing need for youth ministry. Other plans include expanding current facilities to feed, lift and encourage people to a life of vicotory.
