Care Programs

Our Care Program specifically target orphaned and vulnerable children age 0-5. Most of these children have been abandoned in the hospital or left to die. The Northwest and Okavango Districts of Botswana have among the highest levels of orphaned/vulnerable children in the country. Many components of our Care Program are not currently provided by HIV/AIDS organizations in Botswana.

What do we aim to accomplish?

  • Housing - Village & Children’s Homes
Because of quality foster care, abandoned children will grow up to be contributing members of Botswana; they will stay HIV free; and, those who are HIV/AIDS positive will have an extended life.

  • Psychosocial Support / Childcare
All orphans in the village will attend this childcare along with orphaned and vulnerable children from the community. As they enter Standard 1, they will be ready to learn. This preparation will allow for more consistent attendance, a higher number of vulnerable children completing their education, and ultimately, a reduction in the economic impact of HIV/AIDS on the society.

  • Hospice & Clinic
Critically ill infants and children (and their families) will receive basic health care and end-of-life care that will relieve physical, emotional, practical and spiritual suffering. Treatment services will see the return of infected infants and children to productive life, a reduction of hospital stays, a reduction in mortality, and will see the decrease in the transmission from mother to child.
